Stockholm offers a whole lot of things to see but, unfortunately, it doesn’t take much for a trip into town to turn quite costly. Therefore the town offers a Stockholm Card, also called Stockholm Travel Card, which you gives you free entry to 75 museums and attractions and unlimited travel by metro, bus and commuter train. It also comes with a guidebook that has maps and all sorts of information about museums and attractions.
The Stockholm Cards free admission include:
- Gröna Lunds Amusement Park
- Skansen
- The Royal Palace
- The Swedish Museum of Natural History
- The Royal Armoury
- Casino Cosmopol
- Aquaria Water Museum
- The Vasa Museum
A complete list of museums you can visit with the Stockholm Card is available here. You can also use the ferries or go for a boat sightseeing for free with the cards.
Prices:
- Adult card:
- 24 h SEK 330
- 48 h SEK 460
- 72 h SEK 580
- Children´s card (7-17 y.o.):
- 24 h SEK 160
- 48 h SEK 190
- 72 h SEK 220
So, do you need this card? Of course you don’t but I’d recommend it if you have some limitations in your budget. According to the Stockholm Cards website it should pay for itself if you visit two museums, use the bus or the metro and take a boat sightseeing tour. Heck, I’d buy it just to get out off having to take out my wallet to pay for tickets all the time.
