Bringing a new meaning to the phrase “chilling”, Absolute Ice bar Stockholm opened up in 2002 as the first permanent ice bar in the world. Inside, everything from walls to glasses and chairs are made of ice and the temperature is always below -5°C (23°F) to ensure that it won’t melt.
If you’re worrying about the temperature then don’t. The ice bar has warm clothing and gloves for its guests so you can fully appreciate the experience instead of sitting shivering on an icy chair.
The crystal clear ice which Absolute Ice bar Stockholm is made from comes fromTorne Älv (Torne River), a river between Sweden and Finland. It’s history goes back over 10,000 years and throughout the years it has created a system of waterfalls and meanders that gives the purest water in Sweden.
A variety of visits and experiences are offered at Absolute Ice bar Stockholm and they range from single visits to corporate bookings in which you can make your own sculptures.
